Our church is willing to do whatever it takes to be a bridge of God's love to all people so they may come to experience His purpose for their lives, which is repentence of sin and a personal relationship with Him. The basketball tournament on Sunday morning was one way of doing something a little out of the box to reach those who are not connected to any church. By the way, we had a smaller attendance this year for our tournament because there was less people from other churches participating because they were at their own church Sunday morning. That's a good thing! So, we had a higher percentage of those participating who were not connected to any church. Isn't that the point? Our goal isn't to see how many people from other churches we can gather for an event even if it does mean the numbers are bigger.

So, those are a few reflections from Sunday. We have this promise from Acts 1:8 "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses (a bridge of God's love) in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samarai, and to the ends of the earth." Ridgeview Church will continue to be a bridge of God's love to all people in the power of God's Spirit. Will you pray God's Spirit will open doors for you this week to be a bridge of His love to someone?

March Madness Starts Here!

On Sunday March 22nd, Ridgeview will host a 3 on 3 basketball tournament. We thank you in advance for all your help in pulling this off. We need volunteers to man registration and water tables, direct traffic, (foot and vehicle), and set up portable basketball goals and courts in the parking lot. Setup will begin at 8:00, and registration tables will be open by 10:00. We expect our first teams to be prepared to check in by 9:45 or earlier. We need to be ready for them! The event will run from 10:00 am - 2:30 pm.

A worship rally will kick things off for players at 10:30. (Members, this is your Sunday Worship time) The Summit will be cancelled for the event, but the preschool programs will run from 10:00 to 11:00. A concession stand lunch will be served at 12:00, volunteers are still needed to grill hot dogs and serve food.

Player categories will be both male/female brackets from 1st grade on up. Thanks in advance for all the teams who will participate, there were 60 players in all last year who joined us for this great day. This year we want to see even more!

As we planned for this event, our office was being filled up with door prizes and giveaways for the 3 on 3 Basketball Tourney and Egg Hunt. Cool prizes like bikes, basketballs, and even an IPOD nano! This was an outstanding day, March 22nd 08, geared specifically for you, our community!

9:00 Registration begins for 3 on 3 Tourney (ages 6th grade through adult male and female brackets)
10:00 Games begin
10:00 Basketball Clinic (1st - 5th grade boys and girls)
12:00 3 on 3 Championship Games
1:00 Community Cookout (look forward to fresh popcorn, face painting, balloons, hot dogs and inflatables)
2:00 Egg Hunt! (Find as many eggs as you can with a golden coin in them!
2:15 door prizes and winners announced

March Madness Started Here! On Saturday March 3rd, Ridgeview hosted a 3 on 3 basketball tournament. We thank you for all your help in pulling this off. We had volunteers to man registration and water tables, direct traffic, (foot and vehicle), set up portable basketball goals and courts in the parking lot. Setup began at 8:00, and registration started at 9:00. We had our first teams begin to check in at 9:05. We were ready for them! The event ran from 10:00am – 1:00pm, player categories will be both male/female brackets from 4th grade on up. the clinic for the 1st-3rd graders was a success as well. Thanks for all the teams who came out, there were 50 players in all who joined us for this great day.
