I have enjoyed this message series we have gone through and it has been great to read the Connection Cards from many of you and how this series has impacted your life. Please make plans to be here this Sunday as we finish out the series with guest speaker Travis Holmes. Travis is Pastor of Thrive Church in Simpsonville, a church plant sponsored by Ridgeview Church. Did you know every month our church generously shares 1% of our total offerings to help with Thrive Church. They are looking at having their first worship services in November. Travis is excited to be with us and is an all around great guy! He will share the final message entitled, "Leave Boldly." You will be challenged!
Free Oil Change for single mothers: Great job Ridgeview!
Unfortunately for me, I missed my first single moms oil change due to an out of town conference but you guys did an awesome job! Eighteen ladies were helped with their cars and many of you had an opportunity to share the love of Christ with them and pray with them. For those who came out to help, there were plenty of things you could have been doing on Saturday morning. But, I dare say, nothing you could have been dong would have been more impactful than serving these ladies. Jesus said in Luke 18:29-30,"I assure you that everyone who has given up house or wife or brothers or parents or children, for the sake of the Kingdom of God, 30) will be repaid many times over in this life, and will have eternal life in the world to come." Your service to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords will be rewarded!
A few other things!
I just wanted to share a few other things so that you know what's going on in the life of our church:
*I will be preaching at Locust Hill Baptist Church this Sunday for their Homecoming. I was on staff there for 4 years and this is the first time I've been back. Tanya and the boys will be with me. I am excited but will miss my Ridgeview family.
*I had a meeting with Andrea Payment who runs the "Tunes on Trade" every summer in downtown Greer. She has asked our church to take over the kids area next summer and run it and do whatever we want! How awesome is that! We have an incredible opportunity to touch thousands of people next summer with the love of Christ on Friday nights. Much more info to come.

*We are sending out our quarterly giving statements this week. Included with the statement will be a letter from me listing some items we could use at our church that you may purchase for Ridgeview if you feel so inclined. It would be greatly appreciated!
*I am looking forward to being with you October 19 as we begin our new message series "The New Testament Challenge." We are going to be giving away free CDs of the New Testament on that Sunday. Did you know that by simply listening 20 minutes a day you can get through the New Testament in about 9 weeks? Remember, God's Word is life-changing and I promise if you go through this challenge God's Word working with God's Spirit will bring heart change in your life.
